“ Played three rounds with my new LightSpeed driver. This driver is LONGER, i call it the 'fountain of youth'! Any senior golfer (i am 66 with 85 mph swing speed) who doesn't have this club is losing 25 yards. Now again hitting irons into par four instead of fairway woods!!!see all Reviews below

The 20 Yard Difference Fact - a draw can outdistance a fade by up to 20 yards and launch monitor testing has now provided the reason why. It's all due to spin rates. A draw dramatically reduces golf ball spin rates which leads to increased roll out after landing. A fade increases golf ball spin rates resulting in drives that land with very little roll. Big hitters and tour players can afford this loss of roll distance but average golfers and senior players suffer if they give up an extra 20 yards. Now a new driver makes it easier to incorporate a powerful draw. The LightSpeed HyperTi has SmartSet technology - a simple yet effective method of altering the driver's face angle into 5 varying positions. This allows golfers of all handicaps and skill levels to take advantage of a more powerful drive by choosing the setting that is right for their personal swing:
For golfers whose swing improves or changes over time the driver can be easily re-set to continue to deliver consistent and personalized results.
Maximizing Distance Increasing swing speed by just 10% can add an additional 16 to 20 yards of distance for senior golfers and average players who have driver swing speeds in the 70 to 90 mph ranges. Rather than trying to overpower the swing (which creates mishits and poor control) it's a matter of allowing the club to do the work. By employing the proven scientific principle of leverage club head speed can increase by as much as 10% when combined with a driver that offers adjustable weighting. For instance, a standard 45' driver has a head weight in the range of 200 to 205 grams but if that driver is increased in length to 47' or 48' the swing weight becomes extremely heavy putting excessive pressure on the hands, wrists and arms. However, the LightSpeed HyperTi offers variable club head weighting (from 176 to 207 grams) to perfectly match longer or shorter driver lengths. For golfers looking to maximize distance or simply create center of the fairway control the driver gives optimum weighting while maintaining the light weight necessary to produce 'lag' (the ability to retain wrist cock in the downswing for release of full power at impact). This combination of leverage and lag promote the highest possible club head speeds for truly 'smoked' drives.
Golfers can choose the length that best suits individual skills and goals. Longer length drivers can also be easily cut down if the added length proved uncomfortable. The following are suggested:
48'-47.5' driver length; For golfers with good swing fundamentals or players accustomed to longer driver lengths seeking maximum club head speed and distance.
47'-46.5' driver length: For golfers of various handicaps seeking significantly improved speed & distance.
46'-45.5' driver length: For golfers seeking slightly better speed with control.
45'-44.5' driver length: For golfers who want a standard length driver with exceptional control.
44' driver length: For golfers seeking maximum control.
For golfers using the 46.5' to 48' driver lengths who want the fastest possible swing speeds the driver can also be used in Ultra Light mode. The club also comes with (3) 1 gram, (2) 2 gram, (2) 5 gram and (2) 8 gram weights. Simply remove the Smartset adapter from the club head (sets the club in the Slight Draw Bias position) and install the proper weights (easy to follow instructions included) for high speed, ultra light use.
Science instead of Hype Hype and gimmicks do not hit a golf ball farther. Miracles happen in movies (and when you drop a 60 foot putt) but they don't exist when it comes to golf clubs. Science, leverage, speed and ideal impact positions do hit the longest drives. That's what the LightSpeed HyperTi is based on. Whether you are a slower swinging senior player or average golfer seeking to greatly improve driving distance and/or control it's a driver that gives you all the tools you need to succeed - more speed, adjustable weight, longer or shorter club length, adaptability to your individual swing. No, it's not designed for tour players. They already have exceptionally high swing speeds. So why would you want to use the same driver they use instead of one specifically made for you, your abilities and your goals?
Available in Special Edition for seniors and swing speeds below 89 mph and Enhanced for swing speeds from 90 to 100 mph there are two versions tailored to the specific needs of average players who seek performance instead of promise and results instead of gimmicks.

I'm just starting out and am looking to purchase my first set of clubs. Currently I have a Craigslist combo of spalding clubs I picked up for 50 bucks, and have only played a few rounds. Those few we're all it took for me to feel hooked. I want to get some lessons but feel embarrassed to show up with the easily 30 year old Craigslist combo.I stopped into Golf Galaxy here in town after a friend suggested them. Honestly I would not recommend a beginners set simply because they are not 'scalable' in the sense that it is very likely you outgrow them fairly quickly.I would absolutely recommend going a la cart if you're able to as clubs from 2-5 years old will be dirt cheap and dozens of times better than an out of the box starter set.Honestly I think going this route can set you up much better for the future than a starter set. All excellent clubs.
All capable of servicing a 36 handicap all the way down to a scratch player, and for the same price as a starter set. The ping dot system indicates the lie angle at which the clubs are bent. So for different manufacturers, they have a standard angle that they build their clubs to, which varies depending on the club. So blue dot falls within the 1 degree upright band on the ping dot system.
But this all varies by golfer. I'm 2 degrees upright when I got fit. Some of my friends are up to 2 degrees flat. 1 degree up or down won't kill you for your first set. After spending some time with some clubs and developing a swing you should eventually get fit for clubs but I wouldn't recommend that right out of the gate.In terms of putters, if I were to just make a blanket recommendation, I'd say go with something like an Odyssey two-ball.
They're forgiving, they help you line up well, and they feel great. An excellent first putter to start out with. And there should also be about a billion used ones out there on ebay!. Oh boy, you are lucky being a lefty! Lefy handed stuff is usually discounted as retailers have a touhgher time selling it. Check out re-used sites like secondswing, globalgolf, rockbottomgolf, etc.
I think you're better off getting a better name brand set that you can use and grow into. You're looking to buy a set of game improvement irons. They are built for beginners in mind and offer up the most forgiveness out of any iron sets. This means hits that aren't perfectly on centre will still have a decent ball flight. Do some research on popular sets from a few years back, and you should find them pretty scheap. You can't really go wrong with some of the big names like Taylormande, Titleist, Callaway and PING.
